Kiln & storage | Heat treated pallets in storage | Stamped pallets |
As an exporter you have probably already come across the term ISPM15 ("International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures Publication No. 15"). If you are confused by the introduction of this standard you're not alone. Click here to learn more about the ISPM15 rule. We offer customers the latest heat treatment services to ISPM15 - "International Phytosanitary Standard for Wood Packaging". Fisher's has the ability to process thousands of heat-treated pallets to ISPM15 every week using our state-of-the-art kilns, purpose-built for new or recycled pallets. Certificates are available if required - electronic data is retained to show a full audit trail. We have commissioned a kiln which will heat treat our pallets at 56 degrees centigrade for 30 minutes (the 56/30 rule). We have installed state-of-the-art paperless recording system to monitor the core temperature of the pallets and built new shedding to keep the pallets dry after treatment. The gas fired kiln has the capacity to treat 500 completed pallets at a time. The kiln uses a 1250 mj LP Gas burner complete with modulated gas system for accurate automatic temperature control. This provides enough energy to quickly lift the temperature of the pallets and then modulate down to maintain a minimum temperature of 56°C for 30 minutes. PALLET STORAGE The area used for pallet storage is completely asphalted giving the benefit of a safer work area and minimising the risk of contaminants (i.e. gravel) being transported to our clients. For the phytosanitised pallets a 540m2 shed is adjacent to the kiln to keep treated pallets dry. TRACEABILITY At Fisher's, completed pallets are phytosanitised in batches of 500. The sanitised pallets are all stamped with the date and time of treatment, which can be related back to the individual charge reports.
